Life will lift you up or drag you down to muck.
It never is the same when all you trust is luck.
The rich man fears a loss, the poor man fears the same.
Fear can bring despair and needless grinding pain.
If luck’s the god you serve, than life will be a mess.
For luck can be a tyrant and bring you much distress.
You may not serve a god of gold or wood or stone,
But if you trust to luck you’re really all alone.
I’d rather trust the God who made us to be His.
He knows just what I need to find true happiness.
When you know He guides your life, and trust His every word,
Then trusting in your luck will seem much too absurd.
